I recently visited The Dawson Hotel to review a stay and spa experience. With Valentine’s Day next week there’s plenty of opulent options for you and your partner to choose from. I tried out the Cupid’s Couples Retreat, which is held in the couples room and offers a luxurious deeply relaxing and warming cocoa butter melt full body massage. The candle lit surroundings are calm and smell divine, and the massage itself was lovely. Post treatment you can enjoy a complementary glass of prosecco and chocolates in the quiet comfort of the relaxation suite. The treatment is carried out over an hour and cost €160 if you want to really spoil yourselves.
Want to share something really romantic? The Be My Valentine treatment allows you to both immerse yourself in their luxurious moroccan marble bath surrounded by candle light and soak in lavender infused water with red rose petals. Again, followed by bubbles and bites, this will ensure you leave calm in both body and mind. The treatment takes 30 mins and costs €55 for those of you working from a smaller budget.
Don’t have a date? The Winter Warmer Body Retreat is the ideal girly gift. It begins with a firming full body signature massage to ease, relieve and relax muscle tension. Enjoy being enveloped in a Borah herb and spice mask and feel the heat penetrate and melt away those bodily aches and pains while you de-stress the mind with a deeply relaxing and calming head massage to complete you treatment. Carried out over an hour and a half this treatment costs €89.
If you’re lucky enough to stay overnight I highly recommend the plush Junior Suite which is filled with romantic red and old school textures. The room service options are varied, the staff are friendly and the location is ideal situated in the heart of the Grafton Quarter and Georgian Dublin. The hotel has a buzzy bar come club downstairs and seafood restaurant next door meaning you can stay within the hotel for the entire experience.
