Marbella suggestions + outfits

Hello from the clouds on the way back from a very sunny Malaga airport en route to Dublin and then head back to London. Lots of you had so many questions about Marbella; where we stayed, what we did and what I wore, so I figured this blog post would be helpful. I like to go on at least one girly/party holiday a year, last year we did Ibiza so this year we decided to do Puerto Banús as it’s ever so slightly more tame. There are plenty of apartments and Air B’n’B options online but we wanted to splash out and stay in a hotel that was in a great location, had a VIP boutique vibe and lots of entertainment.

Sisu Boutique is less than 10 minutes from Puerto Banús and just 9 minutes walk from the beach. The hotel has its own nightclub, Lipstick an award winning restaurant, Indigo a 24-hour designer lounge and snack bar, a large hot tub with designer sun pads and loungers, and fitness centre. Each room has a private balcony, TV and WiFi. The private designer bathrooms come with a hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers (nice touch). Sisu also offers a chauffeur, concierge, luxury yacht and car rental services. Upon arrival you’re greeted with a red carpet and the bell boys dressed in white open your car door and arrange your taxis.

Would I go back to stay there again? Probably not. Although it was aesthetically really cool, truthfully it was extremely overpriced and the staff were a mixture of relatively helpful and very rude. The food was mediocre at best, there were NO healthy options and eggs in the morning were €20 so you can imagine the other options. If any acts were playing by the pool (we saw LMFAO and Tinie Tempah) the sunbeds/relaxation areas cost €900 for the day  to use with a minimum drink spend. On quiet days you can lay by the pool as normal but expect to still spend a fortune on water alone. If you like to party this is an awesome venue to experience but honestly there were more negatives than positives overall.

The weather was incredible everyday with temperatures ranging from 27 to 31 degrees without a cloud in the sky. A taxi to the port was under ten minutes which was great and cost €6 for three people so local transport is fine. The taxi to the airport took roughly 40 minutes but you can expect to pay €90. Ocean ClubPlaza BeachNewscafePangea and Mirage nightclub would be on my list of things to do in terms of day/night time partying. You can get into some clubs for free while you’re at beach clubs but expect a minimum spend if you book a table. Bars get busy from 11pm and clubs don’t open until 2 or 3am so be prepared to take plenty of disco naps. Noche and La Sala are lovely for dinner and there’s some nice hidden Italians scattered around the pretty white walled streets amongst the dreamy designer shops. Now to what I wore, I’ve linked all items currently in stock so if an outfit I posted on the holiday isn’t there it’s unfortunately out of stock.
